COLTO is pleased to see that Australia’s Macquarie Island Patagonian Toothfish fishery has been recognised as a sustainable and well managed fishery by the Marine Stewardship Council.
The Macquarie Island fishery is now the fourth toothfish fishery to receive MSC certification, following certification of the South Georgia, the Ross Sea and Heard and McDonald Islands fisheries. The latest certification means that around one third of all toothfish fisheries are now certified as sustainable and well managed.
